GELDINGS PAGE

All Around

The geldings we offer for sale are kind, quiet-minded horses that can go in the arena or out on the trail or ranch.  Typically, they can go out in a pasture environment, as well as a stall, and have learned to get along with each other.  These geldings will have excellent ground manners, stand while mounting/dismounting, and will show patience and a willingness to please.  They will ride in the arena or out on the ranch & trail.  Be sure to read the entire descriptions and call or email with any questions or to make an appointment to come out and meet them.

"JOE"

Joe is a 12 yr old, 14.2 hh stalky, well broke gelding. He is a "get on and go" type of gelding. He neck reins (is in the bridle), moves off of leg pressure, has a very nice stop, goes out alone or in a group, has been exposed and is experienced with quads, dogs, tractors, traffic, flags, tarps, etc. Joe has a natural horsemanship foundation from the ground up. He stands while tied, Stands for mounting and dismounting, and has excellent ground manners.
On the trail or ranch- he moves out nicely with a ground covering walk, is not a spooky horse, takes his time thru rough terrain, is VERY sure-footed, and has been on many overnight trips in the high country. He has been around gun fire, but has not been shot off of. Has been on several hunting trips in Colorado, Nevada, and Idaho. This is a horse who knows what he's doing. He will take care of his rider and is a team player. On the ranch- he opens/closes gates, quiet in the branding pen, holds the rope to doctor, and is great to work the gate when separating pairs. He knows his way around cattle and is accustomed to the ranch life.
Although Joe has been ridden and used primarily outside- he still knows his leads in the arena, loves working cows, tracks the Heel-O-Matic, and you can even throw a bareback pad on and practice posting in the arena because he has a super smooth trot.
Joe loads and hauls great in ANY trailer, stands tied quietly, stands for the farrier, puts his head down to bridle, gets along with other horses (not alpha), and overall has excellent ground manners.
Whatever it is you want to do-from camping and ranch work to arena work- Joe is ready to take you!! He has a new set of shoes, UTD on Fall shots, teeth were done early this year, and he is legged up and ready to go.
